The Traditional Jewish Funeral Service:

• Professional services of funeral director and staff include 24 hour first call response, conducting the arrangement conferences, consulting with the survivors and rabi, shelter of the deceased, preparing and obtainting all necessary permits and authorizations, preparing and filling of necessary notices, coordinating services with cemertery and other third parties, asistance with obtaining death benefits.

• Transfer of the deceased to the Tahara facility

• Refrigeration for up to 3 days

• Tahara -wash, ritual bath, dress, casketing. Tahara is the central ritual and preparation for traditional burial. Three or four people perform the cleaning of the entire body and its ritual purification by water. This is followed by dressing the deceased in a full suit of traditional shrouds and placing the remains in a plain wood-only casket.

• Tahara room (clean private room used by chevra kaddisha for Tahara)
